Claude Lévêque has been working since the 1980s on powerful works which inhabit very different spaces, creating change. Avoiding artifice and going back to standard elements, his installations feature light and sound that impact the senses, physically drawing in the spectator. The work of Claude Levêque requires to be more than looked at, they should be experienced. Levêque’s work is in touch with immediate reality and bears witness to the ills of our contemporary society, which he judges without pity, and shocks. The installations plunge us into an ambivalent universe, mirroring a violent, coercive world where the ability to amaze resonates with force.
